The chronograph is a special kind of watch that can tell time in twelve hour format as well as measure the amount of time elapsed. It equips with an independent sweep second hand that can be started, stopped and reset by pressing the stem.

The chronograph was invented by a French watchmaker named Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec in 1821. Although chronograph was invented near 200 years ago, the first automatic chronograph movement was introduced on 1969. The first automatic chronograph movement was developed by Heuer, Breitling, Buren and Dubois-Depraz, who were in partnership. The automatic chronograph movement was also known as “Chronomatic”. TAG Heuer was then created the first series of chronograph called Tag Heuer Monaco. Calibre 11 is the movement used in Tag Heuer Monaco
